We have errors in Mileage from 2013 that cannot be corrected. We would like to be able to verify mileage correctly in the future for the particular truck that has the mileage error. Should we start with a new database to start the mileage new for 2017 and keep the previous database for our records and tax purposes? We have been told that some mileage entries for the particular truck are out of order and cannot be corrected. Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Archive the dataset which will give you a copy of everything currently in your database so you can use that for any future needs for the old data. The program will archive it as truck715.mdb and you can click FILE/DATA SETS/CHANGE DATASET to load it when you need it. Just don't forget to switch back before you start entering current data again.

After you archive the current data set you can CLEAR YEAR - to clear everything before a certain date (to start a new year fresh you'd select 1/1/2017 for example and the program would remove all the dispatch, accounting, etc. dated before that date. The MILES are removed when the Pro Numbers are deleted from BOOKING/BILLING section. An option with this function is to leave all data for outstanding Accounts Receivable. This works well if you have outstanding A/R and will be receiving payments for them after the first of the new year.

If you want to start totally from scratch you can use CLEAR DATABASE which will leave Drivers, Customers & Maintenance records. Or you can use FILE/DATASETS/REPLACE DATASET and load a completely new (blank) database. Most of these options are discussed in the HELP section.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this,
